I have never recorded directly onto my PC before. I've used either a PortaStudio or MR8 and then dumped WAVs onto the computer.
I want to experiment with going direct to the PC.
So, here's my question: Can I simply use my lo-Z to Hi-Z adapter and then a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter to be able to plug an SM58 into the computer? Or, do I need some sort of mixer or preamp in between??
This is not for the ultimate sound quality, just to allow me to record some parts and play around with the process.
Please help. I don't want to blow anything up or fry any equipment.
THANKS ALOT!!
