adapter voltage

k-i got this wah that says it needs 9 volt and at lease 20Ma of dc power.....i have a dc apater and the Ma will work- the only thing, is the voltage is 9.6...will this .6 really screw it up?????

whoa, downshift there big roller... no need to doublepost.

Here's the deal... if your wah is basically some ELECTRIC parts, as in pots, transistors, diodes, etc etc etc... .6 volts won't make a big deal. however... if it's ELECTRONIC, as in has sensative computer equipment in it, it may. That's the general rule of thumb. Most likely, your wah isn't of the second variety unless it's one of those fancy-schmancy new Morley's with the optic sensors on 'em.

It should work. and if it doesn't... well... Blame it on Sonixx.

Gitrokr, it will work. I fed the one stomp box that I have (a Boss OS2) with 12V once instead of 9. No sweat.

You would think this would be the case. However, having worked in electronics retail for two years, I've seen some rather odd cases...

It's amazing how some things start smoking, and other's just make funny sounds. lol

The voltage should be no problem. Just make sure the adapter plug is wired with the correct polarity and is the correct size.

In my experience, the voltage ratings on the wall warts are for the given load on them (current). Open circuit voltage may be somewhat higher, and if you load it with a greater current that it's rated for, the voltage will drop (good old Ohm's law), unless it's regulated, which is highly unlikely. The regulation should occur inside the wah.
