I was generalizing with the phrase "certain material" to mean "in general, they too easily forgive sonic problems in the mix".
My experience with them is such that critical details in the mids and upper-mids was not as obvious, and they didn't let me hear a flaw in a mix balance or portion of the sonic spectrum, leading to a less than ideal mix.
Here are 2 samples -- one mixed to what I thought sounded correct via the Event PS6s, the other mixed to what I thought sounded correct via the KRK V8s.... note also that I revisited this mix BECAUSE I didn't like the way the PS6 mix sounded when I played it back over the V8s, so in my case - the V8s let me hear more details, allowing me a better defined, more tightly-focused mix.
(Remember, these are MY experiences.... YMMV!!)
