Hi:listeningmusic:
I bought 16 panels of 50mm RW3 Rockwool today. Going to be making some acoustic panels, and having a change around of my recording room.
Just wanted some advice really as to how best to lay out my room, and what/where/how many panels to place around it.
My room is 17ft long x 9ft Wide, x 7ft floor to ceiling. I need to keep pretty much everything that is already in the room too unfortunately:(
As you can see, there is 1 door, and 2 recessed windows on opposite ends of the room. Wood floor with carpet if that makes any difference.

I don't know a tremendous amount about room treatment, but speakers in a corner, or even right up against a wall isn't great.

If there's a way to rearrange to avoid that, definitely go for it.
Even if the table was moved out of the corner, it'd help.

I think I'd probably want the table and monitors against the short wall, under the mic.
That way you might be able to treat the first reflection points (above the keys and guitars), and you'll be projecting the length of the room which reduces reflections from the rear.

I'm having a Deja Voodo. I could swear I already saw those pictures and Steen's response about 2 weeks ago. But it says these posts are just a few minutes old.

I'm losing it.

Nah man. This is the first time I had the cheek to post in an acoustic treatment advice thread. :p

I could have sworn you had Deja vu a few days ago though......

Would have been so much worse if there was a reply there from me!
I actually scrolled through with a worried feeling....

Bingo! Great advice.

You should get your position the best it can be - after all, its free! I would concern myself with bass trapping corners (wall-to-ceiling corners work well too) and first reflection points, and going from there.

Thanks for your input folks!.....Rami,,yes you did see the pics a few weeks ago. I put a post up just showing my room, and also posted in show us your studio thread. So here it is yet again! lol.....but needed to show it here as i'm after advice for this room.
As for monitors, well, thats why im asking advice, i know they're not in ideal place. Would like more opinon on the actual postioning tho, desk/console, pc, amps etc.
