So i've had this problem for a while and I can't seem to find a solution. Maybe you all could enlighten me. My acoustic has Fishman p/ups and and they sound pretty decent for live work. The problem is that I get little/no output on my high E string. I don't know exactly what "type" of p/ups i have. I plug a 1/4 in the strap peg on the body of the guitar (right below the bridge.) I had a tech look at it once and he made it a bit better but it went bad again. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much. If it matters at all the guitar is Cort.

Shameless bump. I could really use some help on this. Thanks again.

Well maybe you need to bring it back to the tech or take the bridge out and move the pickup a little to the right. It could also be a height thing. It's hard to answer without more information.

Or maybe he should bring it to a BETTER tech since the first guy apparently didn't know how to fix the problem.

Normally I would, but I think he is actually out of business and I am out of the country. I was hoping it was something I could do on my own.

This is a dumb question I'm sure, but . . . . when you say move the pickup, are you refering to the rope like piece under the bridge? I don't know much about the electronics of this stuff yet. I'm sorry for being so remedial.

As you can't say what sort of pickup you have there it's hard to make a judgement. Having said that I'd guess it's an undersaddle pickup. In that case one of the classic problems with them is un even response. It is caused most often by the saddle not making good contact with the pickup in the saddle slot. You need good and even pressure to get an even response. Take it to a decent tech and explain that much to him and he'll know what your talking about. You need to have them make sure that the slot is clean and that the bottom is dead flat, that the saddle fits snug without being tight and is also dead flat. That will almost certainly take care of the problem. It may need a new saddle it may not..If that doesn't fix it then there could well be an issue with the piezo itself. I doubt it.

"Rope like piece"? The Fishman I have is a very thin piece of metal with a wire coming out of the back. It sits very snugly under the saddle. I really suggest you take into a shop.
