One more vote for Elixer Polyweb...

can't stand Nanoweb.

I only use the Nanowebs. I can't stand the polywebs. They sound muffled to me. Plus I'm a dealer for Elixir so I get them real cheap to install on my guitars when they go out the door. I think the Nanowebs are superior to the polywebs in every aspcet except string noise..but to each his own. My favorite non coated strings are D'Addario phosper bronze, I also really like firewire strings.. last about as long as elixirs but are not coated.

i've tried the elixir nanowebs last week.

i bought a pack of 10s and was surprised about the clarity. it sounded great when fingerpicked but horrible when strummed. they are way too bright for my taste.
they have that squeeky brightness of new strings that normally vanishes after a couple of hours. great for fingerpicking but bad for strumming.

now i'm back to d'addario phosphor bronze 11s. very solid.

Another vote for Elixer polywebs.

Wont put anything else on my taylor.

D'Addario 80/20 Phosper Bronze Light : Blue package
another vote :)
They keep their tone longer than other brands IMHO

i just buy bulk individual strings from musician's friend or similar. for about 2.50 a set or so, i get the gauges i want (which do not exist in prematched sets). i keep them clean fairly religiously (using fast fret or some other cleaner/protectant to wipe them down with and then to coat them with), and they stay brighter longer than those of any of my friends' guitars. and if i feel like changing them, it's way too cheap for even a po' boy like me to have reservations about!

i've been looking for those d'addario 80/20's, but my guitar center only sells washburn brand, so is there a website i can order them from?
