Acoustic guitar strap question

What is the proper name for an accoustic guitar strap where one end slips over the button and the other end is wrapped around the neck with a thing string?

I have a Yamaha Acoustic guitar but no button on the back of the guitar to use a strap.

I need a better acoustic, too. This was only $400 but it doesn't sound or feel nearly as good to me as a bottom line Martin.

I'd just call it an acoustic strap:

For about $15, you can get a qualified luthier to install a strap peg at the base of your neck. Then you can use a standard strap.

It is called a neck strap, and it is one of the stupidist items on earth. It gets in the way of your hand, and unduly stresses the neck. Just put a strap pin on the heel of the damn guitar.-Richie
