Is it possible to tweak(add loops, beats, etc...) an mp3 file on Acid Pro 3.0?

Im not sure AP3 supports the mp3 format.
You'll most likely have to change it to Wav.
which will use up a good portion of your RAM.

but the answer is
yes, just add them...
It will only make sense if you know the original BPM of the song your working with.

If you just want the vocals, or just want the music...

You CANT do that once tracks have been mixed down,
(any complete and finished song is "mixed-down".)
theres no way to undo that. no matter what a program says it can do.

The only way you can is if you find the instrumental, or acapella versions of the songs your working with.

So...what im saying is...
Whatever you want to do you can,
its just a matter of having the proper source material
or the musicians themselves, and knowledge of experimentation.

I heard AP3 has a plug-in that enables it to use mp3 files...

But thanks, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to music production and recording...

Going back to AP3...so, the only thing I can do with a mixed down song is chop it, speed it up or slow it down, right? Or is there something else I can do?

yep..pretty much thats it.
(unfortunately)

Just look for the acapella/instrumental tracks.
Thats where p2p comes in.
if your lucky you'll find something other than brittany spears.

Sometimes when people get those tracks, they pull them from singles.
(people never put them on their singles anymore.
in fact ive only seen a handful with them on there.)

But usually they get them from someone in the record company,
or the artist themselves. And some guy off the street, would
have more luck finding jimmy hoffas body.
(from what ive heard, and experienced.)

I suggest just getting really creative on how you cut the samples
you take from the songs. Adding the words will be the most difficult part.
then you have to nudge the shit out of them to get them to sync properly.

It sounds difficult, but its WAY easier than it sounds.

good luck with it all.

Hey, thanks a lot. I beginning to understand now...

I'm actually trying to find some loops. I know Sony has a lot of loops and samples packages, of all kinds of different genres. They can be quite expensive, but, you know, there are other ways to get it...

I've heard about other softwares, like Fruit Loops and Reason, but I still don't understand the major difference between them. Besides, my comp is really dated(Pentium III 500) and a lot of these new softwares won't run properly on it. ]

And I'm gonna try to find some instrumental tracks.
