I am new to midi/computer recording, looking for backup drums and instrument sounds to accompany my voice and guitar for protools LE (PC version)- I am slowly learning, but a lot of things are over my head, was wondering if acid pro or roland jv1010 is easier to use, better results, expense wise, pros and cons.... PLease help!!!

What is your recording setup?

List the equipment and programs you have or are using. :)

They seem like two completely different animals to me. The JV1010 is a sound module with no internal sequencer as far as I can see. Acid is an extremely versatile sequencer/recording/editing software with no internal sounds of it own.

If you get Acid you wont even need Pro Tools LE (which is next to useless IMHO). Get Acid, download some free loops off the web, and you'll be hooked. :)

I am using a sony vaio rx-570 p4 1.8g, 512 - no protools? Acid will do it all?
