Hi, new here. I was referred to this forum for help.

I just bought an M-Audio FireWire 410 and can't for the life of me get it to work properly with Acid Pro 5.0. I'm about ready to toss the thing out the window.

Can anyone help me out.

1 - When I plug into either of the FireWire 410's channel inputs I seem only to be able to record sound out of the left (on channel 1), or on the right when I use channel 2. Why can't I make a stereo recording with using only one input.

2 - How the heck to I select in Acid Pro which soundcard I want to use (my own board card vs. the external M-Audio one?)

On #1: i had that same issue. (laughs) actually if your recording through one mic, on the left or right input it will only show up on one side of the recording. You need 2 microphones to make a true stereo recording. But this isnt a problem man. Just record as mono with one mic, or use or get a second mic (but atleast for me, that wasnt necessary), or record and copy the image on the left (for example) to the right also, though i have heard some crindges on that last one. Me, i just do mono. A majority of recordings are mono...

heres the link to the thread that i posted alittle while ago on this:

as with your second question, im not sure, but just check out the options section and im almost positive that it would be in your manual.

Funny that, so maybe my problems have all been in my head, mixed with some ignorance to recording. Darn newbies LOL... Thanks. I'll see how it goes.

in my experience with acid ive had some problems off and on with external cards. im hoping they fix this in version 6 but i dont count on it
