Here's a couple of questions for you Sonic Foundry freaks. Guitar Center is selling Acid Pro 4.0 for $99 (150 - 25 instant rebate and -25 mail in rebate) until the end of this month. Meanwhile, Musicians friend is selling a bundle for $150 that includes Acid 4.0 Pro, Sound Forge Studio 6.0, and Classic 8 Pack.
I already have Sound Forge 5, and have not seen a good reason to upgrade. But what the hell is "Classic 8 Pack"? There is no mention of it at all on Sonic Foundries site, and the Musicians Friend staff don't have a clue what it is. If it is plug-ins, are they any different than the 20 plugs that I already received with Sound Forge 5.0?
Also, the Guitar Center salesman said I might be better off just upgrading my Sonar 2.0 to 2.2, which he says "does everything Acid 4.0 does". I'm not convinced, I've heard that the Acid user interface is much better. I think I would like to install Acid on my laptop and keep Sonar on my studio PC.
Any comments?
