I put this together yesterday afternoon. I thought it might be a fun tune to do and it was. Kinda rough but I tried to capture the vibe of the original

My small tribute to the legend that is Lemmy ...

Oh man, I LOVE Motorhead and this tune, but I can't listen right now. "Ace of Spades" is a rare instance in which a band's most popular song never gets old.

If I don't respond in a few days, send me a PM reminding me this is here. I wanna hear it, but sometimes forget to come back to it.

Great tune, good recording, excellent vocal track, cool guitar tones. Really enjoyed the listen.

Thanks for posting this...the performances were spot on.

Mixwise, it sounds like it was recorded in a missile silo

Cool! I love this tune, and even though I don't normally think motorhead when I hear your stuff, this is a pretty good fit. Yes, I think you did capture the overall vibe or feel of the original, although the drum sound is entirely your own. It is maybe a little rough compared with your originals, but not really in a bad way. I've listened a few times and intend to continue listening. Thanks.

Sounds really cool here, man. I don't know the song, but I enjoyed the mix. Your drums are compressed beyond recognition, but they fit really, really well within this song. Kudos!

Greg_L Sure thing. I'll stalk you until you listen to it.

PDP Cheers man, thanks for the listen.

chrisharris Heh that's a good idea. Sure beats a stairwell in a country manor

heatmiser Hey thanks heat, you're too kind. TBH I didn't really nail the drums. I ran out of time - the missus booted me out of the missile silo, reckoned she had to threaten some small African nation or something

PoeticIntensity Check it out on youtube, it's an all-time classic. Yeah I got a bit heavy handed with the compression. I had to get the drums pumping, try & mask all the garks

the ultimate crossover track...I dont know anyone of any genre who didnt love this in the UK...

Very close cover but different enough to make it interesting...id loved to have heard some industrial noises/drums in there, guitar tones are great and the vocals are cool too, cannot have a yank accent in this...nice one mate

Okay, okay... I went and watched it, and .... that's some good rock! After listening to the original, I'm even more impressed by this cover. Great job, Bulls!

You 'put this together yesterday afternoon'!? :confused:What, really?! It takes me that long to get my guitar plugged in and tuned! This is very well done :). I was impressed how you handled the vocals, because nobody can 'do' Lemmy. You can gargle with gravel, razor blades and moonshine to get close- which you must have done. The guitar sounded a little dull for my tastes, but I think it was true to authentic Motorhead guitar tone. I am, however, most impressed that your pulled off one of Greg's all time favorite tunes without even so much as a little nit from him :eek:.;)
This may rank up there near the Whotard's 'Wont Get Fooled Again'. I'm keeping this one.

I thought you were a rocker dude! ...small town in Utah? Can't be as small as my home town in N.Cali. and I still managed to get MTV on a satellite dish in the country during the 80's.
just playin' ;):D

You know, I didn't see anybody else mention it, so I started wondering if maybe something was messed up in my monitoring chain when I listened the first time. Something was definitely messed up, because I just listened again, and it sounds right.

For some reason, it sounded almost like it was underwater when I heard it the first time. Anyway, nice job.

Yeah... Musically, I'm somewhat of a chameleon. I never got into the rock of the 80s, you know.. Ratt, Motorhead, Twisted Sister, etc... My brothers were into Def Leppard, Night Ranger, Poison, etc..., so that's what I listened to. More of the glam / butt / hair rock of the 80s. I'll listen to just about anything now and enjoy it. Except crap... and country... :laughings: ...and I live in Utah, where all rockers are sure to go to hell.:laughings:

So, you said no to Motorhead, and yes to Def Leppard and Poison? :laughings: :laughings: :laughings:

When Lemmy beats you to death with his Rickenbacker, put it on youtube. :D

I didn't even know Motorhead existed. I'll gladly take a beating from a Rickenbacker. :D

they chucked lemmy out of Hawkwind for doing drugs/drug charges..the chaps a legend

try Overkill and/or Bomber..theyre the seminal albums I reckon

Motorhead is the one band in which everyone can agree is fucking awesome.

Cool stuff. there's a vide of Lemmy, Gohl & Slash doing this onutub.
Lemmy will live forever even if he did nothing after Silver machine.
The fact that he made & now is Motorhead & had the gall to take the bomber stage rig into Germany would also give him superstatus.
On top of all this he writes great rock.
Oh, PI, he's legally, in fact medically required, permitted to use goey as his system cardio pulminary & nervous system are now predicated on it.
Hair Metal - man the 80's were a low point musically for me.
Back to the track in question- Ace cover of Ace, Ace!

Great song. Great Band. Great cover.

Read em and weep.
