Greg. You outdid yourself. This is awesome. Bass sounds really really fucking good. I'm diggin it. Never thought i'd hear you do a motorhead song though lol.

In any case, good job.

Thanks dude. :)

That's just plain evil. I've played with songsmith on an occasion when I needed to work out chords for a melody but couldn't quite get it.
It's very "generic" but i guess that's what it's meant to do.
Nice piece of contrast anyway.

It's supposed to be funny/stupid/absurd.

Lol. It's definitely stupid and absurd. :D

I looked up songsmith. Apparently it's some program that takes your voice and just creates music around it. Silly.

I think there was a kind of fad a few years ago, with everyone doing "mash-ups", where they mixed vocal tracks of one song with the music of another. It was kind of amusing for about 2 songs, then it got stupid.

Here's one of the more popular ones: Runnin' With The Beatles - YouTube

The prog is basically for non instrument players to build songs. You can sing or play a melody into it & it will recommend chords based on a set of parameters you select. From there you can build a backing for the melody. Pretty sad in a lot of ways when conmsidering song writing but would be boon for teaching & the disabled.

I'm gonna start recommending it for people who write bad songs.

Actually if you think about it... songmsith is kind of like a reverse auto-tune! :laughings:

actually that has been a semi-common job for me thru the years.
There'll be someone that has a song in their head but aren't musicians and don't have the first idea of how to figure out chords.
So they'll sing me the song ....... I'll work from that and give them the chords.
A lot of the time the needed structure is very clear ..... sometimes it'll branch out into a couple of possible directions. In that case I usually tend to suggest the simplest most direct because , well ...... musically these are simple folk so they're gonna like simple and familiar ...... "There ...... that sound good ? ...... gimme my money please."
:D

I'm SUCH a whore ......

Used to do a LOT of these back when you had to have a chord chart to copywrite your stuff.
But now that you can just upload an audio file I don't see very many of them.
