Never Act Like U Know All
I'm in the market for a modern synth. I have a Roland JP-8080 and about to buy a Korg MS2000R, but want something brand-new - not new to me. So I'm thinking of a Virus TI or a Nork Rack 3.

I played with the Virus TI, its HOT !.

Just wondering if anyone has played with the Nord Rack 3?

And any thoughts on which to go with.

Nord is nice, it has a fairly different character than the Virus. Pretty much personal preference IMHO since both a very capable synths. There is alot of cool stuff in that price range, so go out and play around with as much stuff as you can before plunking down your coin.

There are some other ones worth checking out: Korg Radius, Moog Voyager Rack, Roland V-Synth, Studio Electronics

Default is the value selected by the composer overridden by your command

You know, after reading your sig a number of times, it actually starts to make sense.....

Dont buy the MS2000 , grab yourself a Korg Radias for a bit of extra cash , looks like you are not worried about spend so add yourself a v-synth to the mix and you have a very capable studio for sound creation.

If you want beats take a look at Native Instruments "battery" , it's a really amazing piece of software. I loaded it , looked at it and thought "wtf" because it has a completely unique interface but it's great at what it does even though it was a bit steep on the learning curve.

The V-synth will make sounds you'll never hear on any other keyboard. The Radias is very versatile and clean sounding , the Virus-ti is amazing also but in my opinion not really needed if you have a radias OR have to have the "stereotypical" virus presets for trance , dance.

Korg Karma is a pretty interesting board too , i use mine alot. Check it out on Korgs website.

The Alesis Andromeda is another amazing board but say goodbye to your social life if you buy that because the only way you'll walk away from it is being dragged while screaming , or do what I do and fall asleep on it!

I had the Nord and sold it, it's capable of wearing many hats and is a total performance synth but I had to sell some of my gear because in all honesty I dont use some of it enought to justify having it.

The V-synth is and always will be my favourite.

Old Roland manuals are a hoot. They are clearly translated by someone who is Japanese and has only studied english on paper, never actually spoken it. I always highlight the juicy parts :D so i have a ton:

From the SH-101 Manual:

"Running resonance at high level may prove interesting"
