Absynth not responding to my midi keyboard

So I just recieved Native Instruments Absynth, and it is super awesome! The only problem though, is that it wont make sound when I play on my midi controller. The input meter shows that there is signal, but the is no sound. Can anyone help?

Have you checked the audio/midi set up in Absynth to make sure it is sending its output somewhere?

So I am not able to locate the audio/midi setup button in the actual absynth window. Is this maybe happening because I am running it as a plugin in the channel strip, and not as the actual instrument?
