The thing is that the mic is used, and I would like check first that the mic is functional *and* untouched (mod-wise)

Any quick way to check that the capsule and other components are original?

Thanks!

Is that the Beyer Soundstar MKII? I think it's also called the M400.

Harvey... is there any kind of easy "test" I can perform to be sure the mic is original?
Thanks!

I got one of those a few years ago on Harvey's recommendation. Never regretted it. Once I got over my newbie fetish for bright condensers on EVERYTHING, I really enjoyed it on male voices and still occassionally take it to gigs to confuse the performers by ignoring their technical riders!

Mine has a roller switch which is very annoying, don't know where that places it in the version timeline, would love to see a biopic movie of its life and that of my Shure 545 though. :p

I scored one of these gems for cheap.
It is my regular go-to mic when my bass player gets overly upset about my OM6.
