This is another new track I'm working on. It's sort of got an Alt. Rock vibe going. I pushed real hard on the vocals, trying to sound as pissed off as possible. I still can't tell if it sounds any good or not. Input on mix and performance issues are welcomed :D

Hey Phil. You've definitely gotten better EQing the midrange just in the short period of time I've been hearing your tracks. This one doesn't have the congested feeling of some of your early mixes I've heard. There are some issues with the bass and low end on this track, but frankly I'd focus on the vocals first. The lead vocal seems a bit distant in the mix. I didn't have any trouble hearing the lyrics, so I don't think anything is stepping on the vocals. It's just a matter of levels. Second issue, the chorus didn't work for me. You have the lead vocal and then that parallel vocal line that is panned right. Maybe it's me, but I wasn't hearing the connection between those two vocal tracks. It's like they were each doing their own thing, not really harmonizing or doing some counterpoint. That's more of a composition issue, but so be it.

I agree that the levels needs some reworking. The two guitars hard on each side are pretty loud. As are random kit pieces.

Thanks man I'll take it all into consideration. I can probably turn something down a bit or try to smooth something out to get the vocals more out. I know a lot of people like to have the vocals real loud in the mix, but for me I just want them to sit into the mix where you can clearly hear them, but not extremely prominent. The panned vocals to the right and left are just supposed to be background vocals. Maybe they are too loud lol. From the time the song hits the bridge to the end it goes into a cluster fck of shit which is intentional. That's art for ya :p

I did some stuff to the bass too. I thought I had got it pretty good, but maybe it just needs to turn up a little. I guess we'll see. I'll probably give it a rest today and try to work on those few things tomorrow morning :thumbs up:

Thank you for the input, man. I will try to bring the guitars down and listen for obnoxious drum parts. After a while it gets so hard to hear little problems stuff gets missed. Which is why these forums are great for getting feedback :D

Well, the bounciness in the tune is going to eliminate you sounding pissed. I don't care and resolved is closer to what I heard. Bass could be more punchy. Sounds a little dark and could use some treatment down in the lower regions to clean that up.

F' You too ;) Still doesn't sound pissed. I guess I know too many people who say that pretty casually.

hahah well it's supposed to be more cute and funny than anything, but I was going for a half screeching and pissed off type vocal style.

The guitars sound pretty good. But they're covering the vocal. I also didn't care for how the two rhythm parts played off of each other. At least in the intro. It wasn't as bad after that.

It seems limited really hard.

Vocal is nice and clear. Very nice tone over all. Backing vocals were a little far back.

The bass levels are a bit uneven - the runs in the chorus get a bit loud.

Bring those vox up a bit they are pretty buried. I lol'd at the song. It's pretty gooder. I'd give it another listen down the road.

Another good song Phil. Agree vocals need to be brought up and find those bass notes that stand out more than the others and notch those frequencies a little to even it out. Good job

Yeah I have a lot of little editing issues going on. I normally do a little at a time, but when you're working on several tracks you end up with a shit load of editing and it's easy to miss stuff. I do actually come back here to see what people said. It helps me not to miss things. Thanks for the input :D

I might turn them up a tiny bit, but not too much. I think once to lower some of the things that are glaringly obvious it'll help push the vocals forward as well. Thanks for listening. I don't normally curse so much in my songs, but it was just for fun and it ended up being a lot more fun than I thought it would be lol...

Thanks man. I'll work on the editing it sooner or later. I have 4 or 5 more new songs I'm working on as well and it gets a bit out of hand trying to get all of them on the same level lol.
