A rough mix of an almost complete, original song. Check it out, hate it, like it. Let me know.

Love the Song.

Hate it that I can't play the POD based lick that I hear going with that tune in my head.

I like it....
One small thing I noticed was the "slide noise" from the strings is fairly pronounced a couple of times. I get the same thing on some of my recordings and I've never figured out how to get rid of it. I've heard of some new strings that help minimize it called "Elixers ?", anyone tried them ?
But, I thought it sounded great. Nice track.

Hey.. thanks for listening.

Yeah, string noise can be hard to eliminate. For this type of song it doesn't bother me as much.. Some would say it adds realism. When you get that really high frequency violin type sound - that's a curse.

Thanks!

Lube them strings up with PIZZA GREASE!!! Just order out from Papa Johns (Hungry Howies also works well) and keep the box around for future use... Dominos pretty much sucks.

Loved it also. But can't comment on the mix too much, had to listen with headphones, the family is asleep. Hey is that a title to a song.
I could hear a nice simple piano part in places. Nice tune.

Emeric, great song!

I also think that the string noise was a bit too upfront, especially with these cheap little headphones I'm listening through today. The snare is also disproportionally loud at times, though that might be what you were going for.

All in all, great song and nice mix. I think the overall sound quality is excellent. Very clear and professional.

You know, I think there's a real great spot at 2:25 for a bridge or coda. I was *really* expecting a change there the very first time I listened to the song. Something kind of deep and minor...I dunno.

Just downloaded and listened to "itstheend". It's a great song. Nice lyrics and good acoustic guitar creating the backdrop for the words. I have to agree with the string noise comment though. I wonder if some creative compression and eq could reduce it or make the strumming stand out more.

There definitely is some talent in this group. I have downloaded songs by you, S2K, S8-N, drstawl, and others, and I have to say it's inspirational to see how much dormant talent that the marriage of music and computers has unleashed upon my world. It is not necessary to have a record deal, tour or even have a band to make good music; as long as you love what you do, it will shine through.

This site, and what I have learned from it, is the best thing to happen to my creative side since I first touched a pick to a guitar string.

sniff...sniff...hang on a second man........

OK, I'm alright.

Seriously though, thanx to all for motivating me to become the best musician/recordist possible.

Slackmaster: Thanks for the comments. There actually will be some electric guitar line at that part, the part where nothing is going on for 8 bars or so. Glad the mix is listenable, I have a hard time mixing. I'm using paradyme home speakers and find my mixes end up muddy most of the time. The snare probably is too loud in parts, I'll post a remix when the song is completed. I guess with 3 comments on that damn string noise, I will have to correct it!

Thanks everyone for the great feedback.

I think that if a little string chirp is all that we can find to gripe about, you've done a helluva job.
