Digital – Thanks. Extraneous sound at 1:09… dunno, probably me breathing or moaning or something. Yeah, the power was out from midnight Thursday to 9 pm Sat. Over a million affected due to high winds and trees falling all over. We were lucky. Only one tree fell in our yard and it missed the house.

rayc, faderbug, Travis, variax, Dogman – many thanks for listening and your feedback.

ido – the second part is just improvisation. There’s a very slight added SIR verb, but most if the sound is from the room. It’s the same Takamine gtr I used on a few other acoustic tracks, like the MSH4 blues thing. It’s easier to record since it doesn’t have a booming bass. The signal chain was an ECM8000 (omni) and MXL990 (wide card) about 2 ft away, to a Tascam US122. I was sending the mic’s to new owners and wanted to track a tune with them before they were gone. The 8000 and 990 are on the fingerpicked guitar, hard L and R, and the 8000 is on all the other lines. Gracias.

Greg – I’m sure I added some breathing sounds while I was tracking the fingerpicked first track, since I was singing the tune under my breath to try to feel the changes more. The ECM8000 adds some hiss overall too. Not a very quiet mic. Thanks for your comments.

Thanks guys… will respond to the rest of the posts tomorrow. Got to go cut up my downed tree.

cmhansen- Thanks Chris. :) No, no Christmas CD yet for me.

Rami - But I recorded it sitting right next to our tree. There must be some of that pine needle natural diffusion causing it to verb up more. :p I’ll play with the verb and see if I come up with something more close-up small room intimate as I think your idea is a good one. Thanks for the input.

Anfontan, bigbubba, guitarboi89, Super, 60’s guy – glad you listened and commented. Thanks.

Bulls Hit – Originally from around 1944 I think. Bing Crosby-ish. Glad you liked it.

lbanks – To tell the truth I recorded before the storm, just did the final mixing it when the power was out, watching the battery meter, heh-heh. Nothing like a deadline.

Don't think I can add anything to what's already been said. Beautiful!

Great playing and great sound. I love the ECM8000 :D

I hear a little noise/hiss but that's not a big deal.

Great sound out of the room too.

Excellent stuff Tim. You really capture the mood, nice phrasing and timbres.

metalhead, Don, SGPIANOMAN, gbav, David, Danny, Monkey Allen, Rick – I appreciate your comments very much.

Danny I’m glad those 8000s will get more playing time now. They’re kind of similar in sound to the MSH1-0 but with maybe a little more edge to the pluck of the string. I was playing really quietly on this, so the mic self-noise is more apparent here than it would be in most uses.

Another perfect piece of music perfectly played and perfectly recorded.

Could you do us a favor and post something of you messing up so we aren't so given to despair after listening to you? Could you move here so I could take lessons from you?

Hey Tim,

Wonderful as always. Nice tones and phrasing. I was wanting to hear maybe a reharmonization at the end of the form (maybe a bVI or bIII in place of the I chord), but that's just me!

Thanks for sharing; it's always a pleasure to be exposed to your talent!

Your playing is also as allways flawless.

apl, gema, Naka – a sincere thank you.

Chili – Hey thanks for ordering the classical CD. It’s going out in the morning. And congrats on your first post here.

Beagle – I wish I’d played a different chord there. I wrestled with that when mixing trying to figure a way to edit in something from one of the lead parts that was more interesting than the major 6th chord with the 3rd at the top. Thanks for listening and the good suggestions.

Wow Tim, to my ears this sounds about as professional as it gets. Great balance and sound. Very enjoyable listen, happy holidays :)
