The keys made it sound Van Halen-ish.
I have
an ART SGX 2000 still in working condition I find the distortions to be totally "out-of-the-box" guitar tones used in a lot of 4 track demos in the 80's. But i get some nice tones out of it plugging acoustic/electrics into the cleaner Chorusy tones.
I still manage to find uses for the noisy ol' beast in recordings here and there.
But ya, you can probably use this as a solo vamp then sell it to your local tv news station they can play it behind the sports scores. The sound qaulity sounds good enough to my ears.
The guitar playing is cool.
It has a very 1980's qaulity to the playing and the sound.
Which is to say it doesnt sound like A 1990's Kurt Cobain spin-off.
sounds cool but it makes no musical statement to me.
I'm a guitarist but more of a song guy than the blow your wad solo playing of Satch or Vai.
To me Eddie was always better cuz you could party to his songs.
He wrote better songs than Malmsteen or Vai combined. okay enough of my rant, you get the idea. I like songs.
Gimmie a verse, Chorus bridge and a killer solo and you impress me. play all that solo noodling on one string and you'll impress me.
Do you think you can get a verse and killer chorus outta this?
As a songwritter thats what you should ask yourself during every one of these ideas you record.
Just some thoughts,
