Greetings all. Just looking for some advice for a new audio interface for Win 7, been reading reviews all over and it is such a mixed bag. I recently purchased a Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1, as I love most of their software, but it turns out to be shit with Windows 7 even with all current drivers, I get dropouts in sound at least once an hour plus crackles in audio about the same, regardless of what I'm doing. Mainly looking to a 2x2, with stereo inputs, MIDI would be nice but not essential, at this point reliability is the main factor! Thanks for all input : )

It could be your PC. Do you have any othey USB devices hooked up? Drives, mice, keyboards etc. Try to eliminate as many of those as you can. Try changing the sample rate to a higher number.

Check the manufacturers forums or even contact support. They may have some other optimizations that could help.

I run a m-audio delta 1010 rackmount with win7 fine ( with sonar and pro-tools m-powered. This interface might be a "little over the top" for what you need but one thing for sure m-audio (avid) certainly keeps the drivers up to date !

You can find the used fairly cheap.

cheers
RJ
