Just want to get some opinions on the mix. IMO it's the best work to date (which isn't saying much). The vox have not been recorded yet and the bass is just a scratch track. Some things I hear right away is that the "acoustic" guitar needs to be evened out more in level, I'm not sure how I feel about the dellay. I ran the mix through the Steinburg ME, the bands like to have loud test mixes. I think the guitar distortion sounds pretty OK, I allways have trouble recording guitar (well more trouble than everything else).

Some gear used:
Mackie VLZ 24/4
M-audio 1010
Cubase VST

mics:
D112
M88
C535's
421's
57's

Using Tannoy Proto J's and a Hafler TA1600

The song is financial_agreement

1. record with a click track. this thing is all over the place
2. aside from the very poor recording quality, this song should be scrapped
3. if anything can be salvaged from it... maybe the switch at 2:10... maybe

tell your drummer to kill the ride symbol. very amateurish.

say it aint so!Only one other person that I know of that posts in the clinic that spells the word "cymbal" like that.LOL.;)

not only are you an asshole you're kind of stupid too EH?:D

I dunno. I don't think misspelling alone is enough to convict him. If that is who he is, then he's contradicting himself in a bunch of threads. Doesn't make any sense.

Ooohh that's a good eye for detail though.. just the kind of thing that can give someone away.

Hercule Kramer is on the case!

am I?

I didnt say who "I" think it is and Im not going to say who I think it is.LOL....I just wish they would grow up and post under their regular username like the rest of us and let the chips fall where they may.

It's easy to be an asshole and hide behind a veil.

I think muzeman has the right idea about ignoring him.Starve a troll and he'll die!

I liked it. The guitar playing is very together and tight. This one is much better than the other songs you have uploaded at NWR. No Formula's guitar playing is very together as well. The bass drum sounds totally killed compression, that or your set is extremely muddy.

lol... yeah.. sorry for hijacking your thread just to talk aboot a troll. :D

This is actually pretty decent man. I'm quite a fan of crash cymbals (being a drummer my self :) ) so I dig some of the drumming. Nice reverse choke hits too.

The recording's not bad. The over-all mix could use some effective EQ'ing. The bass isn't really present much. It needs a lot more "balls". The drums sound pretty decent. Most of the gits are a little mid-ish. Maybe bring out some more highs on those.

Obviously, the vocals are either gonna make or break this tune. But it's definitely not bad at all just by itself.

Well either I'm paranoid or I'm suspected of being sc.

It's not me.

Sorry about posting this in your thread lomky.

Thanks guys, yeah the bass is not there yet. He's tracking on monday, new strings on his bass are a must. I'm a bass player so bass is "fairly" easy for me. The vox are yelly, but he is a good singer so his yelly is actually on key. I was mostly concerned about the drums so...
