The drums are a real problem. They have no body at all. They're flat, dead, and tone-less. You want this to sound big, right? You need big drums. All I hear is faint clicks of attack, and no substance to the drums. The toms should boom, the snare should blast, and the kick should be thumping me until I shit my pants. I'm not getting any of that. I've listened like 10 times now and my undies are clean. If this is supposed to be an anthem, it needs to make me want to kill someone, and I'm not feeling that way at all right now. Like at the end, for example, those toms should be bombastic, but they're not. They should be blowing me away with power. Not even close. It sounds like you just randomly stuck mics next to poorly tuned heads and hit the drums with wet spaghetti noodles. No power, man! This song needs balls, and it's gotta come from the drums. I should feel the kick. As it is now, I'm straining like hell to hear a faint beater click. Same with the snare. Hell, even the overhead tracks sound small and timid. You're a drummer dude, right? Stand up for your drums. Think of all the great rock anthems throughout recorded musical history. Name me one that has wimpy drums. You can't. Don't be one of those guys that treats the drums as an afterthought. Electric guitar may be king, but nothing will ever rock without drums. Re-mix, and even retrack if you have to, but get better drums.
