hello everyone.
not exactly sure this thread belongs exactly here... but i'll post it.

im looking for a printer that will take care of my following music needs:

1- print nice band photos, be it on photographic paper or normal A4 paper for lo-fi cd handouts. (also will serve for flyers and cd covers)

2- print nice cd labels (not sure how you call it, but the label/sticker that goes on the actual cd.

i was looking at the HP photosmart 7450 printer.

so basically... what is the homerecordists printer ??

Been using an Epson R-200 for over a year now.
Excellent on inkjet printable CDs and DVDs (I edit video, too)
Epson has always been excellent with color for photos.

(BTW: You can save tons of money by getting ink refills from places like ink4art.com or supermediastore.com ... I never buy Epson-brand refills.)

The Epson R800 is another good choice on the higher end of the scale.

Yeah, me too.

Oops, forgot to say that labels are bad because they make the disk thicker than spec and because they can throw off the rotational balance.

I used to work in document handling equipment (printers and the like). For best quality reproduction it's hard to beat Canon. never ever use refill ink or dodgy cheap stuff. The majority of inkjet printer repairs in our old service department were due to refill cartridges and non genuine stuff, so the few dollars you save initially can end up costing $$$$ later.

I'm not too sure about pricing in the US but it isn;t that inexpensive to print on an inkjet. Most of the time you are better off getting a heap of photos printed at K-mart (dunno if they do photos at K-mart over there).
