OK ill try my best to explain this. I use Sony Vegas to record and mix. And when i pan things there is a problem that stumps me. When i have it centered, its all good, sounds good just like how i recorded it, but then i pan it 100% left or right and it seems to lose some of its quality and the volume becomes muffled. then at 50% left or right it comes out both speakers evenly but just quieter..

first i thought maybe one of my speaker cables or somewhere in my set-up has gone bad.. but then i take a look at some of my older projects in vegas where things are panned 100% left or right and it sounds the way its supposed to. I dont get it. anyone have any ideas?

Sometimes when weird stuff like that goes on, I'll uninstall software and then reinstall it. That usually fixes the prob and makes it work the way it used to.

You might want to check/change how you have your panning laws set up in Vegas. In v4, they are available by right-clicking on the "Pan" icon in the track control of the audio track. If that doesn't work in your version, search the Index of your Help file for the topic "Panning types".
