To be honest and direct....the other mix that I have downloaded is the better of the two mixes...to me and my ears. So it is easier for me to comment on it.
I hope you don't mind me doing this.
The vocals in the first mix need to come up a bit...maybe a db at least?
The drums don't seem quite so overpowering in the first mix either, although bringing them down another db shouldn't hurt anything.
The guitars are clean and high pristine sounding setting good in the first mix, with both the right and left panned guitars having better volume.
Bass is subtle, but I think it is more present in the first mix.
The slide sits perfectly in the first mix, in my opinion and needs no tweaking whatsoever.
I like the volume of the Mandolin solo at 2:26 best and think if you brought the other mandolin solos up to the same volume as that solo, they would shine a bit more in the first mix.
That is just my opinion though. I love the song.
