I havn't posted anything here for a while! Am working on this tune in collaboration with a few other musicians, I did the mix and most of the music tracks, but it's not my lyrics or vocals (except the back vocals..)

Anyways, check it out, not finished yet;

Anybody else? Should I leave it as is? :confused: Any opinions welcome.

Sure man, I'll respond. good thing I got DSL...30 sec to DL 6.11 MB file..lol.
1st things first...Was that some flutter I heard at the beginning of the track? I think so..The recording in general could be "hotter" in my opinion...more volume.
You did an excellent job of what I call the tri-hat. Musician, engineer, and producer. The guitars sound gr8. The parts you came up with are gr8. The fills that you brought up before vocal lines were perfect. Did I hear a banjo 3/4 of the way through? Whatever...it was perfect. Good work Mr. musician.
I thought the "blend" (overall mix), was as good as you can expect. All the levels throughout worked perfectly.(I did think that the bass level at 1 spot in the song was a bit hot)...nitpick.....The sound of the kick and snare, were present and accounted for. Vocals were well balanced. Good job Mr. engineer.
Was that a tamborine I heard 1/2 way through? whatever...It was perfect. Back up vocals were well placed and in tune. Good job Mr. producer.
As far as the composition of the song itself, I thought it was a ho hum song. Rather average songwriting and an average vocal delivery. But as far as your tri-hat performance. Excellent!

you sound like you have a kiwi accent for some reason...am i wildly wrong?

the stereo spectrum is great but i think u should work on the front to back spectrum
pull something back add reverb move something forward doing this will definatly improve the mix by alot but im not the one to judge which instrument goes where its up to you
overall its a great mix two thumbs

I like it. Good song, nice melody and good voice (although a little shakey in places but still very good).

Not my kind of music, having said that I would listen to it (and did).

The mix sounds a little dry, other than that, excellent.

Wow, thanks for the comments and mixing tips! I'm doing another mix so I'll keep those things in mind..

Regarding songwriting and vocal delivery.. those are the only two things I didn't do.. :D I took someone's rough demo and did all the music and mix, and just used their lead vocal track. Thanks!
