Thats a nice and clean mix, what kind of gear are you using there (ex. amp, pre? so on)

The pre on all the instruments is a Universal Audio 4110. i5 on all cabs, bass is just a DI compressed to hell, one amp is a Laney TT20 with a Mercury Magnetics transformer and JJ tubes, the other a Fender Deluxe reverb (well, maybe we used the Laney on both, don't remember). Drums: i5 snare, i5 rack tom, MD421 floor tom, D6 kick, AT4050s for OHs. No EQ or compression at all so far except for the bass compression... like I said, just rough stuff to work out the tune (note the entirely too loud and crackly guitar in the left channel).

Those are raw? Or are they just solo'd?

Raw, thats how they were recorded...

No EQ, compression, nothing

I changed some levels just cause some things were recorded hotter than others. Does that count?

any comments or suggestions on how i could better my drum sounds.. i just ordered all new pinstripes and clear ambassadors for the bottoms

Well, tuning the drums and the player is 80% of the sound. Past that, get really good at mic placement and compression... compression both to bring out the transient and kill the decay as well as smash the transient for fattening... I often run two compressors in a row... The first kills the sustain and makes the transient stick out. The next one then smashes the attack... so you get just the drum's attack and get it smushed for fatness. Though, some genres (blue grass, some jazz) I don't do a thing and just mic the kit really well, even if it takes half a day to get the sound just right.
