Hey...no fair. I have a tune called "Frozen", too... :)

Cool tune. Awesomely cool guitar sound and riff. The snare is a little dry and up front for my tastes, but it does suit the "in your face" attitude of the tune. I like the way you change where the high hat is panned for different parts of the tune, it makes the changes very pronounced.

Oh Yeah...awesome scream, too!

LOL - the Hihat stays in one place - I have the overheads a bit too far back. What you are hearing is him "riding the crash". So, it switches between left crash/right crash/half left hi-hat.

I will bring those up a bit. :D

Oh man, are you serious??? My ears decieved me. Anyway, the "crash riding" sounded like a distant high-hat...Either way, it worked. I thought it was a deliberate effect.

To be critical, it sounds song sounds like was mixed around the drums. They are too up front for my taste and steal the dynamics away because they don't have any. It's like one constant level throughout and you can sense the isolation. They sound good but there is no swelling happening, if that makes any sense.

NL5, nice recording. Guitar and bass tones are cool. Drums sound pretty good, but snare seems a bit prominent in the mix. If it's intentional, disregard. (ala Helmet) Man, digging the guitars. Has a Korn vibe, but the rest of the song is no where near that. Good, bassy tone to them. I'll say meaty. Guy has a good voice. I really like the song. Tell them good job.

Thanks guys -

I boosted the OH's. Now I cut the snare a bit, and bumped the guits up a bit.

NYMS - I'm not sure if yu are referring to the playing having no dynamics, or the mixing? (as far as the drums)

G-

The playing has little or no dynamics, no softness, no swelling, sorta like no feeling. It doesn't sound like canned drums but has the same effect. I'm sorry for being critical cause it's just my feelings about it. I guess it's something along the lines of how songs collapse when you separate the band.

MUCH better!! I was just reading everyone else's comments on your first mix and was agreeing with them. Then I listened to this last mix....yeah MUCH better.... :D

I would bring the vocals down a bit though....

I like it - but it sounds naked at :30. Some atmospherics might go well there. Louder vocals, please. A little more OH in the drum mix. Bass could be better represented here throughout.

Much better. I would like a touch more vocals, but they are there. The overall mix is better. Now I hear the crash that I thought was a high hat :) . There's something about the drums that I can't put my finger on, but it just seems like the snare is in a different room than the rest of the kit. I love the tune though, and awesome voice throughout.

I loved it. Great tune!
The snare doesn't have any sparkle though. (Man I was pickin' on your last song's snare :o )

I really like the tune. Very much sounds like KORN met Helmet. Guitar and bass tones are killer. I agree that the drums could use something. Maybe they just seem to have a bunch of mids? There is some bottom end to them, but the mids are more prominent. Maybe that's the sound they wanted, so if it is, sorry. My bad.. :D

Cymbals don't sem to be lacking any highs, so I guess my only thought is a bit more bottom on the drums. Course, this could really screw things up, so.....

Cool tune.

Sounds much better to me now. The drums are sitting more in the mix and pushing with the tune. The snare could use a snappier sound and a bit less volume. The toms and bass d sound great.
