Just re-did this. I've already posted this, but I re-did the vocals and the arrangement quite a bit.

Any comments are much appreciated.....thanx.

Should be the first song that plays. SCARS. That's the streaming version.

A much more menacing version RAMI.
More variety in your vocal delivery - really nice harmonies too.
What's the effect on the main guitar? & is it out or inboard?
The whole rhythm track is much more aggressive with this mix & rearrangement.
that is to say - gnarly mate, really gnarly!
Oh, I did the download - 10meg - big but the quality is gooooood. I'd love to hear this in full fat wave format.

Dang man....

This is a nice tune....the vocals kick. The spots where you have a slight echo after the words stop is cool...fills it out nicely. Excellent job putting that together. Great flow to the lyrics. Awesome music man...that punchy bass sounds fine. I love it. It seems to sit right between the kick and snare. Nice guitar sounds also. When the song picks up, that crunch is perfect.

Great tune man...

Cool song Rami
I like the guitar parts you've written for this. They suit the various sections well. The arpeggios are more mellow in the verse and the power chords in the chorus really take it up that required notch. Your solo part around 3:00 really fits well with the background music. Drums sound great and bass is smooth and punchy... Vocals are spot on - more good melody writing there....
Nice mix of mellow and power in the same tune ....

 :D  :D

Really nice. The low end is big and punchy. Drumset panning sounds realistic and good. Maybe the gtrs could have a touch more lower mids but I like fat gtrs, what can I say? Wait... yeah, that's what I'm talking about at 1:30. Never mind. Nice variety in the tone.

Hey guys...Thanx alot. I was trying to get a an amount of contrast between the verses and the choruses, but now that I listen, I maybe should have tamed the bass (especially kik) in the verses for the choruses to stand out more.

Ray...I don't have much effect on the main guitar, other than a long delay. I used pretty much the same rythm sound I usually use, but turned the gain way down so it was clean/dirty. I think I learned that cutting gain makes the guitar more mid-y, though, so I had to cut at about 1k about 4-5db.

Damn, Rami. Your vocals have improved by leaps and bounds since I first heard your stuff.

Nice job, mate.

Do a version in French Canadian just for shits and giggles!

:p

Sounds great!

No complaints here, nice song,

Thanx bro...I'm getting there slowly.

That's one nice piece of music man. Mix does sound really good. Guitars sounding good to me and the drums sound great. Love the vocal harmonies as well.

Hey Rami, just love the mood this tune captures, nice lyrics, and emotion too... especially like the emotion in these vox... yeah love the tune man, mix/tune sounds great as is, so my thoughts/ideas/nits I had while listening....

the 1:49 dropoff parts sound too cool... maybe a tad less rim click at times like the guitar solos... the final chorus, in the power chords where you aren't singing I think some following lead notes over the top would sound cool as differentiating that as the "big final chorus"... I'd end the song with a mysterious fading version of the intro, kinda sudden as is, a vibrato clean guitar playing a fading melody could sound cool... where the vox build in the final verse, I think that might sound cool to build the clean rhythms even more behind it even more to match the emotion, maybe even add more cleans to spread around the listener in the stereo field... some echoes in places in the verse vox could add to the mysterious feel... or some cool swelling in the rhythm track at key times...

Anyway... just my thoughts.. cheers on a great track ;)

Dude! I tried every one of your ideas. You had some awesome suggestions. I ended up using a few. Actually, almost every one in one way or another.

I just put up a new version following Snakedog's suggestions.

He suggested pumping up the third verse somehow. So I did. :D I re-tracked the guitars for the third verse a little dirtier ( as opposed to more cleans, like Snake said, but at least it opened my mind).
I also added a few breathy echoes on some lines in the verses...Like Snaker suggested. It was a great idea.

The third thing I did that was Snake's idea was fading out with the intro guitar. Genious!

I almost like this song now.

Thanx guys...this is why I post my shit.

Here's the new download link: SCARS

For a lesser quality stream, fast forward through the music player in the bottom left corner on this page www.ramirami.com. I think it's the 4th or 5th song.

Just realised I can't edit my openeing post. The link in that post is no longer good. The link to the tune is in the above post.

Thanx dudes.

Nice job, Rami. I like the multiple layered vox effect utilized. I think the snare is a little too dry ... but that's just taste.

Really nice punch to the kick, and you've got nice high end to the cymbals ... there w/o too much sizzle.

Guitar tones are great, and you've got a good level to the bass also.

Nice mix, sir.
