Darth, this is strong, very cool. Quality in writing, performance, and mix, the trifecta.
Gotta agree with Kramer about the drums, though...only flaw in an otherwise killer track.

I really like the vocal sound, and the harmonies are excellent.

I kind of like the mad drums. But they are a bit mad. ;)

And I love the "one note guitar" bit through the last verse and chorus - it's a classic, and it never fails!

Great stuff.

It took me a while to get into it, but I quite like this piece. THe chorus is quite catchy.

Funk on!

It's not just the drums. The whole band followed him as he got out of time!LOL.Thats the mark of a good band unit though...Follow the drummer wherever he leads even if it's into an ambush!:DIt is a killer song otherwise.

Dude.. this mix rocked!! :p

and the song was pretty good too.. catchy and what not.

and for the record... I liked the nifty ride accents in the chorus... :p :D The drums were really "raw".. they had that, "we're jammin' this song out live" sound.. instead of that, "we played this in the studio" sound.. :p

I can't really add anything as far as advice.. this is way beyond my league.. :p

took a listen

Hey Darth,

took a listen and, to my novice ears, everything but the chorus drums sounds great. Same pretty much as everyone. the one note buildup is great. You've given me hope. and, this is just my version of the "good writers borrow, great writers steal" theme but, I'm always interested to hear the history of the recording. What kind of setup/media/instrumentation did you use? Whatever bones you wanna throw I'd be happy to get.

and I like to think Blink is just a dumbed down version of weezer.

Energtic and tight song you've got!

Sounded damn good. I like the backup vox's playing in and out and around:)

The only think that popped in my ears was that you might want to trade a bit of headroom on the chorus/bridge. Trade rhythm for vocal. I think the impact of the tight change is enough to survive a slight loss in volume and give the extra to the vocal. The song is kinda POP so I'd give the vocal more volume in the chorus.

I could be wayyyyyyyy off base but, that is my ear for ya.

Very cool break going to the outro!! I dig the arrangment in all aspects.

Peace,

Theron.

Thanks again, guys, for listening.

Miles, the setup was in a house, mostly recorded in a bedroom. I recorded to a Roland VS2480. Instrumentation was real drums, bass, 4 guitar tracks, one keyboard track, and numerous vocal tracks.

Theron, I totally see what you're saying. I will defintely keep it in mind.

Thanks again for listening. You guys rule.

I was just listening to this again and was wondering if these guys could pull the vocals off live. Are these vocals just overdubs of the lead singer or do the other band members sing too?Vocally this is a killer song.Id like to see it live if they could pull it off.

what they said^^

ready for the radio!!!!!!!

nice!!

peace

Kramer,

Out of the four members of the band, three of them sing, and hell yeah they pull it off live. It's a sight to see (hear!)

Cool man!I would see them just to hear them play this tune.I've been singing this damn "handjabs" over and over man.:)

I didn't read any comments yet

great mix for the most part.. Maybe missing a little bit of clarity, but it could be more of a preference thing.. That drummer choked in a few spots, but I didn't see if anyone else noticed it yet.. pretty happy song.. sounds as good as some of the pop punk stuff you here nowadays..

Now get your ass over to my thread entitled 'sorry guys,' and rip it to shreds please.. I would like to hear what you hate about it..:)

thanks, nice job!

The dullness of the recording does make this sound better loud..
