Living in the phoenix desert (109 degrees today  ) makes me daydream about the ocean often :) So here's a jam about the ocean. Just two clean guitars and drums for most the song, the bass and electric kick in at both of the short ocean rock sections...

What do you think? How's the mix? I went for something a little different on this one... not sure if it works...

I call 1:01-2:25 the ocean jam
3:11-End, the unknown ocean theme and it's my first attempt at locrian mode guitar

Well, once again, some good sounds. I really like when the bass is playing. Very full sounds. The drums are somewhat thin when it is just them and the clean guitars. They don't seem to carry the rythum as weel as when there is some bass. Can you beef up the bottom end of them, without killing the whole mix? When the bass comes in, then it gets prety full.

Cool song, and I do really dig it.

Hey thanks! So you think it'd sound better with a bass part throughout the whole song? I wasn't sure if I could get away without one ;) , I was going for a little more stripped down sound for the jams, but never heard it with the bass part, so maybe I should throw one in and see how it sounds...

Alright I updated the file and threw a bass part on the rest of the song... the bass is definitely filling up the gap there, I'm liking it better, thanks for the suggestion.

I'll have to go back and clean it up some, the bass levels and the playing, I just wanted to see what it sounded like for now...

Man, sounds good to me. Bass filled the empty spots. If you wanted to try without the bass, maybe work on the drums to fill in some of the low end, but I like the bass myself. Cymbal crashes seem to have a funny washed sound. This might be from the MP3 conversion, or they might need a bit of compression. They don't seem as tight as the rest of the music.
Man, killer, new style surf. I really like the song. Your playing is really cool. A very fun listen.
Thanks.

I dint hear it before without the bass, but I like what you have going on in this song now...kinda trippy jam-band type vibe,I like your guitar style as well,
and the way this song seems to have different themes or moods to it.Nice job man!

To update (111 degrees today  ) But hey, thanks guys. I'm going to stick with working on the bass part cause I usually have to eliminate some of that lower drum sound to get rid of all the room noise.

Yeah this was almost a total jam, the only written parts were those two short repeating riff sections, otherwise the sections inbetween are just total on the fly jams in the same key, but different modes for the different moods.

I'll look into the cymbol sound, didn't notice that before.
