I would love some comments on this

www.mp3charity.com - the topmost song "Take My Hand (a better world)"

Its probably the biggest online collab ever, 22 participants from 9 countries. It had 56 audio tracks recorded from anything from a studio to a laptop mic.

It's probably not the best mix in the galaxy... but it actually came out better than expected.

Comments appreciated.

Warning: It has a "we are the world" touch and is a sobby sept/11 thing. So sue me ;)

The mix has some known problems, notably "tighness" (lack thereoff, more like it) between the singers... but when they all sang in various locations around the world it was not so easy ....

wow... very interesting... 56 tracks... how of those were vocal tracks? I liked the song, however there were a few spots were you had 2 vocals going that just didn't mesh at all. But overall, it was pretty impressive. I wonder if there's a way you get the chorus to sound more like a choir group?

I dont recall the exact count but at least 2/3rds of the tracks were vocals. (This was done in October last year)

I did a heroic bit of editing to try to rescue the choruses bit, mostly editing out the "s" and "t" on some singers so we wouldn't get a machine-gun of consonants at the end of a word that each different singer (since nobody heard anyone else since they all recorded independently) was holding for different lenghts.

Its still kinda train-wrecky at parts but.... kinda nice in a way too :)

Hey Zap,
.........sorry to take so long getting to this. I came back to listen and it disappeared. Man, what an undertaking. I respect the hell out of the effort that went into this. I wont comment on the mix because i can only imagine how much work this was......and just based on that, ......wow. Nice job man, and a serious collaboration effort. ......bravo

cheers

.......WE AAARRRREE THE WOOOORLLDD......man this sounds (sonically) pretty good for such a HUGE undertaking......its just so......cheesy...im sorry about that..but...it just is.....there are some really great singers in here tho.....i understand the point and all...and really it is well writin.....(the little rap part was a little out of place).....anyway....really a good mix ...sorry i just cant get into the theme....but i am just one opinion...(and prob an insignifacant one at that)...:D

thanks
