What's a good set of headphones that will blank out as much of the noise around you as possible while still hearing urself for hopefully under 30$? While hooked up to ur mixer.

Under $30? Why even bother?
Some AKG's and Sennheisers can be had for around $70, but they are far from the best. Under $30 you get crap. Period.

I don't remember what I paid, but I have a pair of Sony MDR-CD60 Digital Reference headphones and a pair of Koss TD-61 headphones. I don't see anything wrong with either pair, and I'm sure I didn't pay much for them. Keep in mind I'm an unsophisticated amateur who records for my own pleasure only, so I'm sure a lot of folks will disagree with me and YMMV.

Yo EpiGlobal:

Well, man, for under 30 pezzutos, I don't anyone out here on this site who can send you some good cans for that price. You know, like two tin cans with a piece of string connecting them?

But, if you want some good cans, there are MANY. Just push the search function and look.

Heh, heh, I know all you guys are waiting for me to promo the Beyer 770 cans; but, I won't. I like mine, as well as a back up pair whose name I won't mention.

Beyer makes quality cans for around 135 pezzutos. You can buy many Sony cans for less than that that will work fine, as well as a few other types.

Look around, research and take the plunge.

lol ok guys i got the hint i was trying to watch the pennys at the moment what can i get a decent pair for?

Yo Epi+%^&$*&#)

You can get cans for less than 50 pezzutos, more than 60 pezzutos, less than 80 pezzutos, more than 90 pezzutos, etc.

Don't know what your gear is or your micpres or can pres.

So, take a shot and experiment. Go to a vendor's shop and plug in your ears and see what works. Maybe take a tape of your stuff and play it there and see how it sounds on "whatever" cans?

Check out the dudes on this site who rave about cans, like I do.

Hey check these guys out, they seem to be very cool. They tell you straight up if a head phone sucks or not. Even if the head phone sells for big bucks and really it sucks- they tell you it sucks, buy it if you really want.

There list a few decent headphones under 30 bucks. They won't be as good as something in a higher price range, but at least it will be significantly better than walkman headphones.
