A Few Questions Concerning Bouncing Tracks

Hi, Everyone!

I was wondering: is bouncing several tracks to one track (to saved on tracks) the same thing as overdubbing extra sounds on one track by re-cording over the one original track? Doesn't this accomplish the same thing?

Also, is bouncing tracks the same thing as mixing down your final (say, 12-track project) to one stereo audio file for exporting?

yep, bouncing and mixing down are basically the same thing. Overdubbing is different. It is recording overtop of an existing track. So you have a guitar part on a track. Hit record and play another guitar part overtop of the first one. That's overdubbing.
