A different kind of mix contest III

I've zipped the new bass and drum tracks with the original guitar and vox... They're uploading now...

http://www.nlrstudio.com/mp3/collab/Again412.zip

I got rid of the first zip so no one ends up trying to mix it and then revisit (as we have) :)

The zipped bass and drums are still up there if folks still need those after pulling down the first file...

This is a slow upload and the new zip is 90+ megs so give it about an hour and she should be ready...

btw Rokket...

Has Cellar seen your new avatar?

I thought all things simian had to be approved by C. Dweller first...

:D

Ok, here's my mix. It's fairly bass heavy, that was an accident. I am trying to do a better one, but that will be later.
Ed

To hear less bass more guitar, change the 1 to a 2.

Wow, you guys are quick! Oh, for some reason, I can't get to the new zip file through your link Bentrabbit.

Do we have anyone who wants to judge?

The only links that still work are the separate bass and drums......

Any chance of getting the kick and snare as isolated tracks from the rest of the drums?

I was actually thinking about doing that since this has now been offered out to the masses... The less restrictions in the mixins the better ;)
I'll see if I can upload something tonight before heading to rehearsal...

I might even be able to offer up a zipped file of 8 individual tracks (kick, snare, toms, etc.) if folks want to really tinker...?

That would be even sweeter! If you can, do it!!! :)

Rokket - at the risk of sounding like a picky producer -- your new bassline is much better (not to mention all the parts are there!) - but it's still at least 15 cents off-pitch (sharp).... is that a fretless that you're using maybe?

Here's mine!

EDIT: LINK FIXED!

If anyone feels like this song needs something else that you can offer. I have no objections to additions as long as they don't change the song as I have written it.

Ipso Factor -- I couldn't get your link to work.

I had problems getting it in tune with her guitars. I checked and double-checked my tuning several times while I was rehearsing it. It may be that her intonation is off, and that capo on the second fret is exaggerating it. I played her guitar parts with my acoustic capoed on the 2nd fret and my bass was in tune. I don't know...

I'm going to mess with my bass' setup tonight and double-check my intonation. If I find that I'm off, I will retrack my bass and get it posted again.

hi there, here is my first mix :):

I pitched the bass down a little since it was still a bit out of tune (as mentioned above)

I'd love to get some feedback! :)
