NL5

Unpossible!
I dug up an old "live" recording that I did a quick remix on - just thought I'd share.

:D

Excellant! A lot of feeling is in this song and it's simplicity is just magnificent.

I like it.
I'm mixing down some stuff very similar to that,
What are you using for FX on the guitar and Vox.

NYM - Thanks!

Timboz - There isn't much effects - it was recorded "live" as he couldn't play the song without singing it too. There is a bit of ambience reverb on all 3 tracks, and a touch of compression on the vox. Smidge of eq on each track, and that is about it. I recorded this when I first started recording, so the recording quality pretty well blows..........

It blows away most of the stuff I do.

This was "saved by the mix", well sorda anyway. :D

One thing that really made it sound better was manually putting all 3 tracks in phase manually. It was recorded with two SDC's on the guitar and one LDC for the vox - all at the same time. If you have a similiar setup, and haven't done so already, I would, it made a huge difference.

edit - BTW - the main reason the vox sounds the way it does is the singer - he sounds even better in person (the bleed on the guitar mics makes it sound not-nearly-as-good). I have about 15 of his songs recorded, and they are all fantastic - this is one of the worst ones.........

Nicely done. Rec quality blows, NL5? Wasn't my impression at all. Clear and rich. Only minor thing I noticed was an occasional sibilance. The guitar sounds big, closer than the vocal, like I'm listening with my head right in front of the guitar. Even though the difference strikes me as kind of unrealistic I like the effect.

Sounds good, man.

Who is this Jesus of who you speak? :D

By the way, thanx for signing my guest book, nice to have you on board.

You don't think it's too much? It such a thin mix (just ac guitar and vox), so I kinda made it a bit big.

Nice tune Gunnar. It does have a very "Live" sound to it. It also sounds very classic....not over compressed. Very dynamic. I hear a few of the issues spoken of, but they are minor. Some sibilence, and a bit bright, but just minor nits. Good tune overall man.... :D

Mind boggling.

The singer is pretty good with. The playing is pretty cool too. The mix sounds fine. :)
