dare I drudge this up again? :D

hhhhhhmmmmmm....... yeah.. I do...

I'll have to agree here... even after you take my advice and use CDex (like you should :D.. no really.. you should.. :p ) for your mp3 conversions, it will still leave you with some serious mix/recording quality issues. The vocals in "Take" are so low in the mix at some points (i.e. 0:35) that I can't even understand what he's singing. There's no way an mp3 conversion caused that. And the acoustic on "Take" and the primary elec on "Fool" grated on me pretty bad (sounds like the acoustic was recorded direct. )

Comments on the music are welcome...
you asked... :D

I think you gotta open yourself up to feedback a little more. These songs could be greatly improved my making the tweaks that have been suggested thus far. And keep in mind that we've got the same ears as do the people you are going to be trying to market this music to... we're not just makin' this stuff up... :D

I agree with a lot of the posts on vocals hard to hear, flat guitar, etc.
Some adjustments oughta brighten it up.

TAKE IT AWAY :

The beginning made me think of some Uriah Heep right away. The clean guitar is a little too sharp. The singing reminds me of R.E.M's Michael Stipe at 1:18. Really not bad. And guess what's the problem for me this time...?

Yeah, the drums... again. I wonder if the problem is in my head, rather than your people's drum sounds :D I never seem to be satisfied with drum sounds.

Okay, songwise the song progressed kinda slowly, which ain't bad at all. I think some additional spices along the 2nd verse and chorus would make it sound less of the same stuff over and over. Add some alternate acoustic guitar picking, trumpets, tuba, kazoo or something along the later verses to bring some variety. Something similar to what you're doing at 5:35. Maybe even a subtle guitar solo. Still, not bad, but this song sounds so long because of the verse+chorus+verse+choruse... without additional flavours, except at the end.

Hey, I wrote a song called "Take it away" about a year ago.

Anyhow I listened to yours. Sounds very REM like to me. Have to agree with the comments on the snare. Fix that and you've fixed most of the problem. Its a good song, but too long.
