A couple of tracks...

Thanks for the replies-

Dachay - I'm not too familiar with the etiquete arond here and I wanted to hear some more feedback on the tracks so I didn't think much about the bumping; needless to say, after using my brain for a split second, I wont do it again. I'm really glad, however, that you were able to listen to those couple of tracks. The effects I used on the vocals are a tad of db delay a bit of eq cutting in a few frequencies, and the fxreverb from Sonar which I tweaked quite a bit. That reverb is not bad at all, but the presets just sound too "presety" if that makes any sense. The voices were recorded with an SM 57 about ...yes, a dynamic mic. There is no pad in the song, there's a viola and a french horn in a very large room (sound fonts with a bunch of reverb) that mixed and panned sound very moody "behind" the piano.
Sen - The phone that rings was put there on purpose and there were two reasons for that... One, for a very long time, when I sit in my living room with friends and booze and we listen to music really loud, ever so often, somebody (usually whoever had smoked some weed) heard a phone ring that never rang... and we always had to pause the music to check if the phone was really ringing... so I decided to add that to my music...
The other reason is the meaning of the song... At the beginning and at the end you can hear a message left by my ex on my voicemail, so, not to extend myself too much, the song is about communication and the lack of it, especially over the phone, hanging up on people, not answering, caller id etc etc

I'm very honored so many of you have given these songs so much positive feedback.
Carlos

Cool Ethnic track

You might want to add a little compressor to the drums for some thump and fullness in the kick and snare as well as a little reverb to the cymbals. Some hot guitar.. reminds me of a Santana style. Very good.. little polishing and you have a releasable quality.

Good explanation man...:) ..I must admit I didn't listen that carefully to understand the whole point about the phone...anyway, great work again..
And take it easy with the dope, or you'll become famous for your music too quickly...:D

I like Arigato! Very tight playing. Not too fond of the midi sounds you've chosen (mainly the drum sounds...but perhaps it's not a choice? ;) ) but it's very interesting to listen to. It reminds me of the solowork by Lyle Workman.

Tanto Que Decir sounds like a well recorded 80s ballad. Don't care too much for the style, but it surely sounds great. :)

Funny explanation about the phone...I always hear my mother screaming 'dinner', perhaps I should add to my music sometime too... ;)

I think you deserve another bump Carlos.

Nice work on both pieces. The mix sounds much better on "Tanto que decir". More top & bottom extension. Cool tune. I thought the electric solos could use a bit more 'verb though to fit with the song better mix-wise.

I used to hear that phone ringing all the time listening to Van Halen stoned. I think it's a harmonic of the cymbals.;)

Arigato has some cool shredding, and cool modal structure. Mix is a bit flat & bandwidth-challenged though.
