Hi
I just have a couple of questions regarding home recording.. not REALLY sure where to put this, but yeah.
My band has done several home recordings. However, we did not put much time in to the actual perfomance of it, usually just doing 1 or 2 takes for each instrument. This obviously resulted in a not-so- good final product, though we did spend longer mixing the songs.
One of the main problems is the quality of the drums. I have access to 6 Shure M-57's, which, though not great, will do fine for now. The thing is, we need to be able to mix each seperate drum to a seperate file. (eg- a track for the overhead, a track for the snare.. etc) I have the following equipment...
6 Shure M-57 microphones
A Packard Bell Pentium 4 computer- with Adobe Audition, and various other mixing programs. Only has original cpu souncard.
A Tascam 424mkIII 4 Track PortaStudio.
Do I need a new soundcard to be able to record seperate drum tracks?
If so, could you advise me on which one to buy?
Thanks in advance!!!!
Alex.
