I think it sounds pretty good. Nothing really to say, just enjoyed it. I think you captured it well.

Hey Rick, great job on this tune. I really like your vocals on this version. You have a really strong vibrato going on that carries and sustains really well.

Harking back to your last post, I think your vocals are up-front in this take. They're not pushed back after effects are applied. Whatever you did you got it right.

Now the guitar playing....is exceptional and the tone is good. But I think it could be brought up a touch to show off its quality a bit more. It also may need a bit of a boost in the lower end, but you can probably only tell once it gets brought up a bit and you play around with the mix. That's just my take on it, YMMV....

Really liking this one..... :)

Dogman, thanks for your comments!

ido1957, this time I finally figured out what was wrong with my recordings. I was experimenting, trying different settings because I was having a problem with clipping on the vocals, even though the overall level of my mix was kindof low. I needed to adjust the trim settings (not volume) of my vocal track in Sonar by bringing them down a bit, then I was able to increase the overall mix level without causing more problems. I did not need to EQ the voice at all. I only applied a very small amount of reverb. Also, I agree that a bit of mid boost on the guitar tracks might be in order. Thanks!

Ok, I brought up the level of the guitars a little as well as added some mid EQ to accentuate the guitar tone and quality. Is that better?

Time In A Bottle I rerecorded this today. It is two guitar parts with vocals, Jim Croce's "Time In A Bottle".
Darn...I get no link. I love that song..one of Croce's best..Maybe it will work tomarrow.

Think you might do "Bad Leroy Brown"? :D

It should work, just got a little ahead of myself with setting up the link.Time In A Bottle
Thank you, it did work .....

Nice cover on Croce... your voice sounds trained. Have you done any off or on broadway work? You have a voice for it...least ways, that is how my ears take on it. I noticed the inflection on many words. I mean that as a compliment. :)

Hey Rick,

I am listening and I am very tired!
This is very relaxing and on my pc speakers I don't have too much to comment on, so I am just going to say it is making me sleepy so you have done a good job!

Well Done Rick
Thanx for sharing!

Just listened to the new version. The new mix is exactly what I was looking for. I think it sounds more balanced now. Again, nice job on vocals and guitar....

Yea... good job. I'm just happy that someone is still doin' Jim Croce stuff.
