Great article in the latest EQ mag about the Great River MP-2NV (Mercenary Edition):

Here's a few quotes (EQ Mag, June, 2002)

"the Great River gave me all of the sonic qualities I associate with Neve preamps - a big warm, yet detailed sound. I compared the NV to a pair of racked 1073's, and, for the most part, didn't notice a difference. I say 'for the most part' because the 1073 has a tendency to get muddy if you work the pre hard, while the Great River retained a bit more definition."

It goes on to talk about "Designer, Dan Kennedy" and how he outfitted it with some sort of whatchamajiggers that terminate into the thingamabobs. I'm not very technically inclined, so that's chessrock speak for "technical jargon." Anyway, the reviewer was practically gushing all over himself over the preamp and Dan Kennedy's designing, etc.

A movie I had a small part in has been reciving awards all over the country on the Indipendant film festival circut. Someday If I get paid I may even buy one of those preamps.

At the age of 17, I was interviewed on TV via a local news channel investigating a double-homicide across the street from where I lived.

I'm still waiting for my royalty checks so I can buy me a Great River too!

It wasn't on TV, but I once played a pickup game of volleyball with Tom Selleck. :D

I never met Tom Selleck but I had dinner with Bill Gates once. Does that count? :)

Who picked up the tab!!??

I was singing karaoke at a bar several years ago, and Mr. T walked in during the middle of my song. I stopped singing and said: "Hey, T. Loved you in D.C. Cab." :) He looked like he was wasted.

Paula Nelson (Willie Nelson's daughter) lives next door to me!

I pumped Johnny Carson's septic tank :o More than once :p He's pretty cool and even funnier in person.

I rang up Peter Frampton, Katie Sagal, Naomi Judd, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Kim Richey and some others that I can't remember right now...take that.:D

I also appeared on the small screen in a leading role on a Macy's
security-camera's video when I was 22!!

James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins) wrote an article about my music school for spin and I was in two pictures (one with my shirt off with STUD written over my chest... and electrical tape over my nipples). Ah, the things one will do for fame.

I was in an exterminator commercial once. No, twice. The termites, I hear, are still ok at the house where they were filmed, but the the guy who owned it died. I want a great river just cuz everybody else does. Thank you, but I don't sign autographs.

I heard that commercial...was it Lada..or Skoda?

No, the one I did was for a local car dealership. it hasnt actually aired yet. I had to go in and sing over some cheesy midi music. The commercial will be sold to them and I get a little cut for doing it....$75....not a bad 2 hours of work. I also get a copy! (yikes)

Any time I can hang in a real studio on someone else's dime is a good time!!;)
