LOL While you have Stephen Paul working on his new mic, and Brent Casey working for you? That would be like asking me to design a race car while you employ Mario Andretti and Al Unser.

But I do have some ideas about some unique monitor speakers that would blow away most of the current boxes out there - one nearfield for fairly cheap, and one VERY expensive system that would be all digital and exceed current state of the art stuff.

Hmmmm, a ribbon, using some of the newer magnetic materials, might be interesting.

Alan, you might ask Stephen about coating mylar with an aluminum deposit as a possible ribbon material to increase output, eliminate ribbon blow-out, and handling higher signal levels without distorting.

A one micron aluminum ribbon is very fragile; a one micron, aluminum-coated mylar ribbon may be far more durable.

Alan, I just happened to remember that I had one condenser mic design that might be of interest. It would do all 4 conventional patterns, plus X-Y, Blumlien, AND M-S stereo. It could be made using two C3 capsules.

I dont Know, Ive suggested for his multicapsule sd condencer of including a ribbon as one of the capsules, but I dont think He will do it.

I thought it was a briliant Idea.
