The company so many love to hate, Behringer, is releasing one hell of a new rack unit in the third quarter of this year. Eight channels of A/D and D/A, mic pres based on the new IMP design with phantom power, ADAT interface, with a MSRP of $249. Yeah, it's 44.1/48 only. But it's also $249. That's nuts.
The A/D is rated at 103dB (64x oversampling) and the D/A is rated at 100dB (128x oversampling.) I'd be interested to know which chips they are using.
They've also planned a rack mount version of the V-AMP ($269). Stereo balanced outs, 24/96k digital outs (AES/EBU and S/PDIF), and pre- and post-send/return.
