Fair playing on the piano.. This is a very sincere song, isn't it? But the piano sound itself is not the best. Vocals are pitchy and tentative. The drums.. well, they could use a little work. Guitars kick in and don't gel, although they are in tune and playing appropriate chords. I suspect this is just a mixing issue. The solo is pretty good, but dosen't fade well into the next section. Perhaps the song is too sincere for it's own good.
As something to listen back to, in order to hear yourself making mistakes you don't want to make again, this track is invaluable.
As a vocalist, I have got some real dogs at home, and I won't post them for you here. But suffice it to say I learned to do what I was good at and leave the rest for more talented individuals - most great singers I know aren't great at everything.
You have a good range, and it's clear you're a good singer, but you lack the control to pass easily from your chest voice to your head voice. Practice will make this easier, but the lack of popularity power ballads currently enjoy will make the chances of debuting this technique vanishingly small. Anyway, scales scales scales. Sing them up and down your range and find your transfer spot and nail switching back and forth at volume. Avoid the glory notes with the wide vibrato, it is very very cheesy.
Thanks for posting this, and don't be discouraged. Keep it coming.
