For recording through a 8 input interface i need 8 preamps.. (i have a voicemaster and a small mixer so actually i only need 6..)

I was wondering about the focusrite octopre, which I think would be a good choice, but probably a bit expensive for me at the moment..

Does anyone have an idea..? maybe a mixer with direct out on all channels..?
(What mixers do have direct out..?)

Thanks in advance..

Most mixers with 8 or more ins will have inserts. You can use inserts as direct outs by plugging in to the first click.

Yep, look into a mixer. Soundcraft M-series are pretty good and they have an 8-channel version with inserts and direct outs on every channel. For a bit more you can get the 12-channel version which might come in handy later on.

You may have to make your own cables to allow this to work. ...With the Ashly mixer/preamps that I've been researching, you have to make your own audio out cable (TRS to TS) to get audio output from the insert jacks on each channel.

Yeah, using a 1/4" mono cable, and plug the other end into the interface. The insert is after the gain and eq, so you need to turn the gain up and phantom power on if you're using condensor mics.

Can you get the peak LED to light?
