howdy doody, this is my first post on the site...oh boy oh boy. Here is my question I am the proud owner of a tascam 788 recorder and I am wondering if this machinehas the ability to take an existing track and edit it to fade up or down in volume. Im not sure if i asked that very clearly. I know you can take a track and adjust its volume but i want toknow if you can adjust a small portion of a tack leaving the rest unchanged, and if that small portion to be edited can be edited to have a changing peramiter i.e. at the start point have a volume level of 8 and have it fade to a level of 2. I know the 788 has a whole dynmics effect thing but from what i readit doesnt have much to do with volume or fading the volume whch is what i want but I suppose it could be for that i dont know thats where you come in.so if any one knows how to make a fade on a track that has no fade please tell me how. thanks a lot

I believe so, but I'm new to the 788 also, and I'm not sure I understand your question.

You might want to check out Tascam's forum for the 788 and ask your question there. I'm sure someone might know.

Look for the 788 forum (you'll have to register -- but it's worth it!)

The best and possibly only way to do a fade like that would be to bounce it to another track, that way you control the fader and get exactly what you want. Or, wait a minute, in your premix you can make 'record' the fader changes then.
