Hello, I'm interested in building a small studio in a room in my basement. Sorry I do not have a diagram to better explain....
the ceiling is 7'2" which I understand is very low. But I have put my speakers used in bigger studios in the room before and was comfortable with the sound, tho i imagine the properties were different. I felt that the bass when played back in another room sounded essentially lower.
I'm curious as to any helpful ideas for the particulars of the room. for instance: One wall is concrete towards the outside of the house.. It has a 8 ft. fireplace indention that brings the room width in this section from 14'6" down to 13'2". I considered building the rest of that side wall out to match the fireplace indention to make an even wall. is this neccesary? Also on the other wall there is a 1 x 1 vent that runs along the ceiling the whole way across the 18 ft wall. this wall i assume is sheet rock. should i build a ft. out to make that wall even as well? Seeing as tho the 1 wall is concrete and the opposite wall is sheet rock. How uneven will sound be within the room?

Understand im not concerned about sound proofing from the rest of the house at all.. I just want the best pure sound within the room at all cost.. If i built around these wall indentions to make two even parallel walls, the size would go from 14'6 to 12'2" which would make for a closer to ideal golden ratio. but even so what would i have to put inside the wall space to make it all be even distriution Any suggestions as to what to do with this room at all.. I wish i could have made a diagram to better explain..
