60ips recording???

Heh. Totally cool.

Of course it´s possible. You are probably gonna get a nasty frequency bump in the low mids or so though. No fun. In fact, it seems to support 120ips recording too. Which makes me suspiscious about the 30kHz frequency response. That is way to low. With 120ips you should rather be able to support some 300kHz...

So, it´s not really made for audio, but might sound fine anyway. However, it doesn't seem to have single track arming, meaning that you have to record all 16 tracks at once. The size of it is interesting. I guess it´s rackable. The fact that it comes with a flight case could make it an excellent live recorder.

If somebody wants to record stuff live, and it doesn't cost too much, I would try it. It might be a darn good machine. Maybe. :) Could be a piece of crap too.

This item is a data recorder for computers. Old computers from the 1970's like you see in the movies from that era.

This is not designed for recording high fidelity sound in a normal studio environment.

Unless you are opening up your own museum, do not buy this item.

Cheers! :)

Now that you showed us this, I have to record a rock version of the Bionic Man theme song.

I like how the seller states, "this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!" :D

Like there isn't half a million of these things in government bunkers somewhere, piled up on skids waiting for scrap metal dealers to bid on them for their scrap value.

I admit, they do look cool though.

It might be neat to have a bank of these things strapped into rack cases to create you own 1966 rocket science lab or Bat-cave. lol :)

Cheers! :)

Hmmm. Seems to me to be a data logger, rather. You hook up 15 underground microphones and a time code generator, set it to 120 ips, press rec and blow up an atomic bomb.

Then you rewind, press 1 7/8, and analyze it in a more humanly reasonable speed. :)

Computer units need no speed settings. And they shouldn't really have a play and rec buttons either. That stuff you control from the computer...
:p

So, it could be radio-active too then!

Good deal.

I'll take a dozen of 'em.

:D
