what seems to appeal to people to check out a mp3 clinic post and/or listen to their mp3's?

the poster, themselves?
post count?.....naw!
post title?
the poster's responses to other posts?
style of music?
someone asking for help on a ruffie mix?
number of visits and responses on a post so far?

Seems to me, the # of previous posts count for a lot. I suppose we'd all rather listen to something that lots of other folks have also enjoyed...it's much more enjoyable than listening to Newbie recordings, with all the hisses, pops, and other 'problems' (I call them 'character'), right?

For instance, I see a number of people have at least read my posts, but I have rec'd little feedback. Perhaps they are non-members? Perhaps they're disgusted? Who knows?

I usually only 'respond' when I'm in the mood... And whenever I'm directly addressed...

I'll respond as the mood hits me, and if I have time.... whether the person is a newbie or not or what their post count is, is irrelevant.

However, if a regular from the board posts, I'll usually listen. Sometimes with or without commenting, depending....

Sometimes, If I don't have anything nice to say, I don't say anything at all. Though, often I can't suck up the bad, and have to post. Usually, though I am inspired by some peoples talent, or a good song idea. I think though that everyone has something to offer, whether it be a new player or obvious pro. If you can learn from anyone, then you are truly listening. However, many time I know that is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard. Especially when I have to turn my head to the side like a beagle in a failed attempt to squeeze a note up to pitch. Or grit my teeth to make the entire bad of a song go away. I hate when I hear a post and have a metallic after taste for a couple of seconds.

I listen and then read how everyone reviews the tunes. I try to hear what they're listenening to based on thier suggestions. It helps alot with the learning curve.
